Description: Cascara is native to North America and most commonly known for its beneficial
properties in stimulating muscles of the colon and intestine to aid digestion, constipation and to generally help regulate bowel movements.
Traditionally it is also used for the treatment of jaundice, haemorrhoids, and other liver and digestive problems.
Caution should be taken if constipation is due to excessive tension of the colon wall, as it Cascara is known to stimulate muscle and mucosal lining activity. Chronic constipation and colon muscle weakness may benefit the most from the actions of Cascara.
