Contraindications: Avoid if hypersensitive to any constituents of lotus.
Use cautiously if combined taking medications to treat diabetes, high cholesterol, psychiatric or cardiac conditions and erectile dysfunction.
Actions: Psychopharmacologic (promote positive mood), immune boosting, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties which aid keep a healthy body and mind. Can have a protective effect on liver and blood lipid levels.
Description: Commonly used as Ayurvedic remedy, lotus is known to relax body and mind. Its
calming effect can help to promote a positive mood, aid with restlessness, nervousness, depression and generally relaxes both nerves and muscles.
Lotus can have an immune boosting effect which may be amplified by its antimicrobial properties and high antioxidants. These may have a protective effect on infections, particularly of the digestive tract. It can have a protective effect on the liver and to help regulate blood lipid levels.
Additionally, it is said to maintain healthy skin, hair and eyes.
