Description: Its antiseptic and astringent capacity has been used to treat a wide range of
upper respiratory tract infections such as sore throats, mouth ulcers, sore gums and tongues, tonsillitis, and laryngitis.
Sage is known as a digestive remedy to support better nutrient absorption and gut health. Antioxidants contained within sage may further support good health.
Clinical research investigated its ability to treat menopausal symptoms due to its oestrogenic property. Most women noted a reduction in symptoms, particularly of hot flushes, night sweats and experienced a calming effect. It can help to regulate menstrual periods and may reduce breast milk production and hence has been used by mother to assist during weaning.
Further research was made into its ability to improve memory function with promising results.
