Devil's Claw Root
Devil's Claw gets its name from the appearance of its fruit, which resemble claws. The plant is native to Africa and uses its "claws or hooks" to attach itself to animals so it can spread its seeds.
Devil's Claw is used to relieve arthritis, lower back, knee and hip pain. It is also used to treat a number of ailments including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, bursitis, tendonitis, chest pain, migraine headaches, loss of appetite and digestive disorders.
Devil's Claw is also used in difficulties of childbirth, menstrual problems, allergic reactions, and kidney and bladder disease.
Devil's claw is approved as a nonprescription medicine by the German Commission E, an expert panel of physicians and pharmacists who advise Germany's counterpart of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
