Description: Echinacea is widely used today, especially as an immune system stimulator
which can help the body to combat all sorts of infections, including bacterial, viral, fungal and other micro-organisms. It does so by boosting the body’ natural immune response to increase the number of white blood cells, as well as their strength of action. Additionally, it has properties which enable it to stop viruses from infecting cells. Most commonly, it is used to prevent colds and other respiratory infections. For throat infections, it may be used as a gargle.
Due to echinacea’s anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, it can also be applied to skin infections, including acne and boils, but it can be particularly useful with fungal and viral skin infections.
Other uses it has been known for are as a remedy for allergies, such as asthma.
