Description: The traditionally used in Amazonian medicine to treat impotence as it can aid
both physical and psychological aspects of the condition and is generally known to increase sexual function and libido in both men and women. Muira Puama help to increase the blood flow to the sexual organs hence stimulating erection in men and orgasm in women. There are no known side-effects to this, unlike other medication. Additionally, it is said to prevent baldness.
Its aphrodisiac and nerve tonic properties can be helpful in treating conditions such as depression, stress and exhaustion. The bark has a strong astringent action has been used to relieve diarrhoea and dysentery, or as a gargle for sore throats.
